This is a fantastic vintage resource
The accompanying free sewing patterns is for the two dresses featured on the front cover. They are the pre-cut, unprinted type of pattern that was popular at this time. It will fit a 36" bust. There are also full instructions (with scaled-down pattern pieces) printed in the magazine (see photos).


In addition there are a large number of advertisements for footwear, lingerie, cosmetics and other items. There are items on topical matters and fictional items, general and beauty advice columns and pages devoted to autumn fashions, ideas for stretching the clothing budget, embroidery instructions (transfer is missing), home decorating device, recipes, children’s knitting patterns, instructions for making organdie underwear sachets, motoring advice, parenting advice, a children’s page.

The knitting book is missing. 

A very scarce publication. An invaluable resource for the costume historian or collector of vintage sewing patterns.

In good condition. General age and spotty discolouration. The staples are intact and rusted. There are some areas of the spine rubbed away, some pages have dog-earing and creasing

The included patterns are unused and factory folded. The pattern has spotty discolouration on it and the date is October 1938, however the description printed on the pattern corresponds to the description on the cover and in the magazine.
